It’s a question that is asked every year when you should book your summer holiday – should you book it early or leave it late? Of course a lot of us make decisions on the spur of the moment because that’s part of the fun of going on holiday, but early booking, particularly in December and January has so many advantages.

1. Greater Choice

By booking your summer Holiday now, you will have a greater choice of the accommodation, flights and your choice of dates.  If you wait to book accommodation till the last minute, you may end up paying a premium for a basic apartment/hotel. If you wait to book a last minute flight, you may have to fly at inconvenient times, such as the middle of the night and the prices may have sky rocketed.

Book early and save.....!Prices go up dramatically in January, as January and February are traditionally the prime months for booking summer holidays.  Many low cost airlines release their fares from September for next summer. Most airlines tend to increase their fares as the planes' fill up and early reservations are usually rewarded with the lowest fares, in accordance with the forces of demand and supply. The later you leave, the more expensive the fare can be. Out of peak season, there may be a bargain or two available if you are not bothered about the destination and can arrange your leave at the last minute.

Once you’ve booked and put down a deposit, you’ll be motivated to start saving for your holiday early. By booking early you’ll also have a clear idea of the total sum you’ll need to save for your holiday. Whereas, if you plan to book last minute you may find it difficult to save and may have to postpone your holiday as a result.

    I prefer to book my holiday early as I know , I will have the choice of accommodation I want. Booking early means I will reserve the cheaper fares from the Airlines as some of the seats are discounted.
    I can also manage my budget, i.e I will have months to save the money required for the holiday without getting into debt with a credit card or a loan.
    Having a holiday to look forward to is just the tonic to fend off the winter blues and to have something to aim at for later on to put a smile on your face at any time.
    One can look ahead to a holiday experience, plan the holiday wardrobe, save up and spend time learning more about the destination so one can really make the most of it.
